Sunderland (11th) play Bolton Wanderers (18th) at the Stadium of Light, 9 January 2010, 3:00pm.

GAME CALLED OFF

Steve Bruce has yet to get past Sunderland’s ‘blip’ of no win in seven since beating Arsenal.  Darren Bent has started scoring again however (3 in 2 games) and it’s only matter of time before they start winning again.

Bolton Wanderers, unbeaten in four (three draws), scoring goals have sacked their manager and bought in Owen Coyle from Burnley.  Coyle is a good manager and obviously ambitious (relatively speaking) but any unnecessary change of management risks relegation.

If Coyle can get the most out of Ivan Klasnic then they should survive but there is every chance that they will drop like Portsmouth if they don’t get results very quickly.

We believe this game to be a very hard one to call.  Sunderland, showing a hints of form against Bolton with their players either unsettled or with a first chance to impress their new boss.

Best Bet – Goals.

First scorer -Darren Bent

Worth a punt – Matt Taylor to score.

Prediction:

Sunderland 3 – 2 Bolton Wanderers
