West Ham, Joorabchian and an Argentinian

Are the Premiership determined to see far they can plumb the depths of hypocrisy and fair play with the interminable Carlos Tevez affair?

Not content with letting West Ham off punishment-free for lying and breaking the EPL rules (and no, a five million pound fine is not a punishment) but now they are threatening to reopen the investigation should West Ham not “assert their rights” over the player and “get money”. Well at least they aren’t being ambiguous any more.

Now, IF West Ham had like they said “torn up the third party agreement” with Joorabchian then surely that action effectively gave them a £30m asset? If not then there is still either an agreement in place or a new agreement has been made.

Personally, as absurd as this affair is what annoys me most is the treatment of Sheffield United. Did they get the £5m from West Ham? No. The EPL sat on their hands until it was too late to do what would have been the morally correct thing to do; deduct points from West Ham.

And for those who claim that Sheffield United were relegated because they were not good enough to stay up – the single biggest reason that West Ham were ‘good enough’ to stay up was their use of a played who should never have played for them.

The Premier League knows nothing of justice or morals. They only know the path of least resistance.
